About this place
Sake is worth exploring warm as well as chilled. Visitors to T’s Bar have said they were surprised by how its flavour changed with temperature; others appreciated being offered a sake to suit their preferences. One menu example, the Sōgen set, lets you compare junmai sake made with three different rice varieties: Yamada Nishiki, Hattan Nishiki and Ishikawa Mon. The menu notes that each brings out different flavours in the cheese, making this an appealing pairing to savour a little at a time.
There is also the option to choose individual cheeses rather than an assortment. Buffalo fresh cheese, Mozzarella di Bufala Bocconcini, is described on the menu as rich with the flavour of milk. Halloumi from Cyprus has a pleasantly chewy texture, and the menu says grilling it brings out more savoury flavour—a different experience from eating it as it is. Another menu example is Vigneron Confiture Framboise, a washed-rind cheese filled with sweet-and-tart raspberry jam. Its aroma, saltiness and savoury depth meet the jam’s fruitiness, making it an interesting cheese to consider alongside a drink.
One visitor praised the generous selection of assorted daily appetisers. The bar lends itself to lingering over a drink, nibbling on cheese and appetisers along the way. It is also described as suitable for solo dining, so those who would like to discuss their sake preferences while choosing a drink may appreciate a seat at the counter.
